Function defined is disabled. What to do?

I see the "Warning: defined() has been disabled for security reasons" message on my site. What should I do? How can I fix this?

Solution for the "defined disabled" issue

In order to eliminate this error message you need to do ONE of the following things:

  • Remove the defined string from the disable_functions at php.ini* file
  • Ask your hosting provider to remove the string above if you don't have an access to the php.ini* file
  • Change hosting provider which allows the running of the defined function.

You will never have issues like these on our servers. With our MSH (managed shared hosting) package we make sure your site is running smoothly and if any errors come up we do fix them. We also offer self-managed GoEasy package if you need something simple. This makes us the most knowlegeable PHP hosting provider!

php.ini is a configuration file that resides on the server that hosts your website. In some cases it can only be edited by the administrator of the server.
